What the Company Says: Truly a worldly beer. Baltic Thunder represents the Baltic Porter style admirably. Exhibiting the enticing, toffee roast of the British porter that originated the style in the 18th century, and the soothing, subtle fruit nuance of contemporary brews that flourish from Helsinki to Vilnius today, this dark lager honors the Baltic god of thunder.  Created by an inspired collaboration of brewers and tempered with a touch of turmoil, Baltic Thunder rolls on to bring you enchanting light as the darkness fades.

The Intro: I haven’t had a new Victory brew in a while.  When I went on my journey to taste as many beers as I possibly could I started with a lot of Victory brews.  I loved them.  So I can sort of blame them for this site and for me loving all kinds of different beers.  Let me kind of ruin this review by saying I have easily found the best Porter I have ever tasted.  Thanks to Victory.

The Look: Pours black with brown highlights.  Now what is cool about this brew was when you poured it, it feels like your pouring a soda.  Bubbles jumped out of the glass like the fizz out of a bottle of coke.

What the Nose Thought: The smell isn’t overwhelming but it’s fantastic.  Sweet smell that includes chocolate, a coffee type smell, roasted malt, and maybe some dark fruit smell.  Everything together equals fantatic.

And the Tastebuds?: Like I said above this is now my favorite Porter by far.  The taste is just one aspect of why.  Up front is the coffee and chocolate taste followed by a fruit taste, maybe raisins or figs.  Roasted malt flavor is also present.  Now you get these tastes in a lot of stouts.  But for some reason it just shines in this beer.

The Feel: This is the other star of the beer.  If you don’t let this beer sit long enough you’ll get more of a rough feel.  Like a soda.  But if you want what you get is just an awesome milky, smooth, creamy feel.  Awesome just awesome.

Would You Drink More?: Yes.  I’m going to buy a few more bottles of this soon.  I hope it’s still around.

Ending Notes: Get this while you can.  It’s just awesome and it’s from another PA brewery.  Maybe I’ll move back to PA.
